(February 23, 2009) The only news story last night that did not start with "In these hard economic times" was the Oscars. (Here is a quick review of the Oscar nominations and winners to keep you up on the office water cooler talk.) Focusing on the best way to plan and execute our jobs and move our company forward should be part of our work in all economic times. According to a joint study conducted by the Human Capital Institute (HCI) and TAPFIN Process Solutions, there is an emerging trend of companies utilizing Integrated Resource Management as a way to utilize their workforce in a more strategic fashion. Integrated Resource Management is an approach that manages talent across the entirety of the workforce - including regular, part-time and contract employees - and is in synergy with an organization's business strategy. The Human Capital Institute, a global professional association and think tank, and TAPFIN, a leading business process outsourcing provider of end-to-end human capital management solutions, co-sponsored the study to better understand how organizations can better direct their talent management strategies.
